This week’s Montecito Lifestyle Blog is collaborating with Ginger Eats, a Montecito Foodie + Wine Connoisseur. She’ll be giving us the low-down on a Winemaker’s Dinner event hosted by the Monarch.
Liquid Farm & Kings Carey Winemaker Dinner hosted by the Monarch | March 18th, 2019

One of the neatest things I've found over the last few years exploring the fantastic restaurants of SB has been the special event dinners that a number of the top restaurants pride themselves in offering. Usually attached to a guest chef or winemaker, I've tried to hit as many of these events as possible, and have been a regular at some of my favorites (Bear and Star, Sama Sama, Bibi Ji).
I'm very excited to announce that my favorite restaurant in Montecito - the Monarch - will now be hosting a monthly winemaker dinner as well!!
I was lucky enough to be able to attend their very first winemaker dinner and was thrilled with the creativity of the dishes and pairings for the night. The halibut sashimi had a melt in your mouth texture with a pop of citrus flavor that highlighted the silky tones of the Liquid Farm White Hill Chardonnay. My personal favorite was the quail surrounded by flavorful barley and dressed in a savory sauce that left me scraping my plate for every last drop.
Next month the Monarch will feature Margerum wines, which you may recognize from seeing their M5 featured on a few of the Montecito restaurant wine lists.
